Hi there I’m Steve. I enjoy video editing and making machinima films. My love for film is what drew me to machinima. After following the machinima community for some time, I began to produce my own work in 2005 anonymously. Due to the positive reception from those films I decided to release my work under a new name; Lagspike. In November 2008 I took home two awards for best writing and best short format at the Machinima Filmfest in New York City. My machinima films have been featured on Digg, Kotaku, Bluesnews, WoW-Europe.com, GamesRadar, WoW Insider, Curse, and other high profile websites. Also in 2008 I was hired to produce work professionally which allowed me to push things further than ever before.Editing is mainly done using a combination of Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. I’m always looking for new games to experiment with but have spent a lot of time working with Valve’s Source engine, the Unreal 3 engine, and World of Warcraft. I enjoy the challenge of creating original and entertaining films using a variety of resources.
Can I translate one of your movies?
Sure. You can find all the dialog here and you can find downloable versions of the movies here.
How do you make movies? How did you create that effect?
I’ve made a tutorials section which documents how I did most everything. Hopefully you can find the answer you’re looking for there. If not feel free to shoot me an email.
Hello Steve,
Big fan of your work. I was wondering if you would be interested in creating a video for our mobile gaming product?
Hello Steve, not sure if you still check this, but I just came across your site, and wondered if you know how to capture / load the complex city scenes from a game like GTA? I’m looking to use the map as a base for a 3D asset, for reference in comic book drawing.
Please let me know if you can help me out, I’m appreciate it, thanks!
